MISHKA X MONARK

This month’s MONARK box holds an exclusive tee and necklace made by MISHKA NYC. The collectables inside are inspired by the centuries-old juxtaposition between religious movements in Russia and its ruling class.The image in the foreground of this tee is the Russian Orthodox crucifix (which has been heralded as a bringer of good fortune),while the effigy of Grigori Rasputin also known as the “Mad Monk” (mystic and advisor to the Tsar) hovers in the background. If you look closely enough you can see a slight twist; Rasputin’s face is rendered as a half-skull.

In his life, Rasputin embodied everything evil in the Russian regime and his assassination was seen as the death and complete annihilation of Russian Imperial government. This month’s MONARK box reminds us to always think independently in our journey toward
